Bill Brockbrader Court Hearing
November 14, 2012: A CALL TO ACTION

Bill Brockbrader Court Hearing November 14, 2012: A CALL TO ACTION
Pat Donworth, Activist Awake, Nov. 4, 2012.

On Wednesday, November 14, Bill has a hearing with the judge, during which his attorney will argue to have the charges against Bill dismissed and the case dropped. Bill would be a free man. Focusing on this hearing is the best use of our collective efforts.

We ask you to join us in actions — letters and prayer / group meditations:

Step 1.  Letters of Support:  Send letters of support to Bill, to reach him ASAP up till the Nov. 14 hearing date.  For those who sent letters last summer, it’s the same kind of letter: attesting to his character; giving your support; thanking him for his service to country; and for standing up now for justice and freedom for all people. Keep the letter general in support, rather than getting into specifics, e.g. dropping the case.

Send the letters to:

William Brockbrader
1046233 c/o ADA County Jail
7210 Barrister Drive
Boise, Idaho   83704
United States

*Remember to provide your full name and address on the envelope or it will not be delivered.

Step 2.  Meditation/Visualizing Bill’s Case Dismissal:

We invite you to hold Bill in the Light during your individual meditations, and we invite you to join in a nightly group meditation, as often as you are able.

At our Saturday, November 3 meditation, we established a powerful Light Grid around Bill, Eva, and Garnett. That Grid is in place, and any time we reconnect with it, calling in more light, we establish a more and more powerful grid.

30 Days Of Gratitude – Day 11 – Elizabeth Esther

This is a really good article. I have some experience with this kind of thing.  This is from the website of the movie Paradise Recovered, which was loosely based on first hand experiences of members of the Worldwide Church of God, founded by Herbert W. Armstrong.  The creators of the film drew on some of our experiences and were in contact with those of us in WCG reform movement. -AK

30 Days Of Gratitude – Day 11 – Elizabeth Esther

We’ve met a number of kindred spirits on this filmmaking journey.  The first was a writer that has been quite public about her own background of spiritual abuse.
Elizabeth Esther was raised in a restrictive religious environment.  (We call them ‘high-demand churches’.)  She’s growing and changing, and she is helping many people.
As an introduction to Elizabeth Esther, we asked to reprint one of her blog posts entitled “Why I’ve Stopped Living Each Day As My Last.
She graciously agreed.  Thanks, Elizabeth, for being a truth-teller.  And thanks for reminding us to slow down – that we’re truly not on the brink of Armageddon.
Besides, if Jesus comes back?  Isn’t that a good thing?
Recently, I had a jarring insight in therapy. Our marriage therapist was remarking on the fact that we have a high tolerance for living in high-demand, high-stress environments. We’ve been living like each day is our last since we were kids.
Apparently? This isn’t healthy. Who knew?
As children we were both raised in oppressive religious environments. On top of this, my husband’s family of origin was always teetering on the brink of breakup. My family was always teetering on the brink of church scandal.
As children, we learned how to live on hyper-alert. We were taught that tolerating abuse was normal and healthy.
As adults, we know how to live in chaos. We know how to manage and juggle and try to keep everything from falling apart.
Here’s the Big Lesson I’ve learned: no matter how hard you try, shit falls apart anyway.
This is a relief, actually. It’s not MY job to keep everything together. It’s not MY fault if things fall apart.
Additionally, living in survival mode is not a healthy thing. This is what is scaring me right now. I don’t know any better than to drive myself onward. Ever faster. Ever stronger. Always biting off more than I can chew. I am so driven that I am modeling that for my children. I am showing them that keeping up the frenzied pace is good and normal and healthy.
Furthermore, I am my own harshest critic. I criticize myself before someone else has a chance to do that. As a kid, I spanked myself. I don’t have mean thoughts about other people, all my mean thoughts are about myself.
I punish myself.
I never lashed out at the unfair, abusive living conditions. I simply internalized it and told myself to figure out a way to survive.
I didn’t leave.
Do you know how much courage it takes to leave an abusive situation? So much. I didn’t have that kind of courage. I am in awe of those who do.
People tell me I write courageously and vulnerably and the truth is: writing courageously is easy compared to the courage it takes to leave an abusive church. I didn’t have enough courage to do that. What I did do? I resigned myself to a life of misery. My church had to fall apart before I worked up the courage to leave.
The thing is, when dysfunction is your normal, you adapt accordingly. For children like me who were raised in high-demand, religious environments we simply adapted and learned how to survive. Hostile environments were our normal.
It’s just sick. You never give peace or happiness a chance because healthiness is abnormal. A major part of my recovery has been realizing my addiction to THE WORLD IS ENDING. Nothing seemed real unless it was fraught with adrenaline.
Happiness and peace feels abnormal. In fact, it feels damn uncomfortable.
But here’s the truth: human beings can live in survival mode for awhile. But eventually, it takes a toll. My marriage has taken a huge, direct hit. We are finally beginning to understand the long-term toll the Survival Lifestyle has taken on us.
Human beings are not supposed to fight unending wars. Something gives out. First goes our empathy. Then goes our health, perhaps. Then we lose our sanity.
I am finally admitting that I am human and I can’t do it all.
I need help.
And I need to keep getting help until I’m all the way helped.
I need to stop living like each day is my last. I need to sloooow down and just live.

Update by Sheldan Nidle for the Spiritual Hierarchy and the Galactic Federation 11/13/2012

Selamat Jarin! We return with some interesting news. Recently, a flurry of legal activity and agreements concerning the new governance has set the stage for asking our heavenly advisers for a final go-ahead to start manifesting your new reality. Those who have run your world for so long continue to lead your realm toward a series of massive economic and diplomatic disasters. To us, this inevitability is a sure sign that the moment has come for more significant intercession on our part. To this end we have instructed our liaison teams to inform their earthly counterparts about the amount of time remaining before we are compelled to engage extensively with your global situation to prevent a meltdown. Your forms of government and the characteristics of your economic and financial systems lie at the heart of your overwhelming difficulties, and it is clear that these spheres of activity need to be upgraded in a hurry. Europe is near the point of a collapse that is to take down most of the First and Second World's economies. There is no answer to this prospect, as things now stand, except an unspeakable worldwide economic disaster. This alone validates our direct intervention.

We are deeply concerned that the amount of time needed to implement the necessary measures will continue to overrun the suggested deadlines. Our experience with your world has shown that 'unexpected' problems always pop up suddenly to delay the projected forecast of events given to all of you. We went along with this only because of the positive results ascribed to these holdups by our heavenly advisers and we understand their wisdom and excellent reasoning. Nevertheless, the intensifying severity of your circumstances now indicates a more assertive approach. Your world deserves better. Our mandated goal is a first contact with you, and there are moral and legal implications surrounding this event for which we are responsible. We come not to usurp your prerogatives but to promote your return to freedom, personal sovereignty, and most of all, full consciousness. This means we will act only after we are fully cognizant of the impact and consequences of these actions on your world. For this reason, intervention on our part will be undertaken in an atmosphere of easygoing and calm elucidation of our every move and intention.

George Lucas Will Donate Disney $4 Billion To Education

George Lucas Will Donate Disney $4 Billion To Education

George Lucas is ensuring that the force may be with young Jedis everywhere.

The "Star Wars" director will donate the $4.05 billion he will receive from the sale of Lucasfilm Ltd. to Disney to a foundation focused on education, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

On Tuesday, the Walt Disney Company announced it had paid the huge sum to acquire Lucasfilm Ltd., which produced "Star Wars" and is 100 percent owned by George Lucas himself. Disney also announced plans to release a seventh "Star Wars" film, "Star Wars: Episode VII," in 2015.

“For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company,” Lucas said in a statement on Wednesday. “As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”

The director has yet to disclose which charity will be the beneficiary of the huge chunk of money. But Lucas currently serves as the chairman of Edutopia, a foundation that empowers innovative coursework in schools. The organization is a likely choice, eonline.com speculates.

Lucas has made other generous donations to show his commitment to education in the past. In a Giving Pledge letter from 2010, he wrote:

“I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education. It is the key to the survival of the human race. We have to plan for our collective future –- and the first step begins with the social, emotional, and intellectual tools we provide to our children. As humans, our greatest tool for survival is our ability to think and to adapt – as educators, storytellers, and communicators our responsibility is to continue to do so.”

It's two for one day! "The Present"

Today in Australia, (tomorrow in the USA), is the birthday of an angel and we are getting the present!  My first born son, who is older and oh so much wiser than I was when he was born, has written a love letter to the world.

Enjoy this, share this and send some of your own love light “down under”.  He would like that.

it's after midnight, i'm 28 now, and i love you. i don't care who you are. i don't care what your name is, what you look like, where you live, or what you've done with your life so far. i love you because it's a choice, because it's my god-given right to do so, because it's up to me to decide to exercise the power of my heart, or not.

i love you because i choose to. not because i know you, not because i think you're great, not because i think i'm great, but because we're all in this together. we are not separate. humanity's repetitive cycle of self-inflicted pain is not happening to someone else, it is happening to all of us, right now.

i love you because i choose to, because i know that once enough of us make that choice, the cycle will be broken. that's all it takes. you do not have to be special, or amazing, because you are special, and amazing. you do not have to have money, or do something else first. all we have to do is embrace the ever-ready always-accessible omnipotent strength living within us, and, from there, embrace the world. love. choose to love. be nice, be kind, be gentle. help each other, ask how we're doing, find ways to make today nicer than yesterday.

i love you because i choose to, because i know that once enough of us make that choice, the cycle will be broken, because that's how it works. love bursts all confines which would constrain it, love nourishes every starving soul suckled at it's breast, love restores faith to every weary person beaten down by the pain of separation. this is what love does, this is how it works, and this is how our world will evolve. along the path of love lies the true journey of human evolution - we do not evolve with gadgets, or with money. we do not evolve with undersea explorations, outerspace sojourns, or genetic tinkering. we do not evolve through sport, or music, or art, not through poetry, dance, meditation, or metaphysics. each of these, insomuch as they are a conduit for the creative expression of love, may serve as an avenue for our evolution but the mold is not the essence, the waterjug is not the water, and an empty glass will not quench our thirst. it is love which imbues anything and everything with sacred potency, love which invests life itself with meaning.

i love you because i choose to, because i know that once enough of us make that choice, the cycle will be broken, because that's how it works. i love you because we have spent enough time investigating what does not work, and we are ready now to move on to what does.

i love you because i have spent enough time investigating what does not work, and i am ready, now, to move on to what does. come with me.

happy birthday, love.

Petraeus scandal derails another general's promotion

The Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday said it is putting off a hearing on the nomination of Gen. John Allen to be NATO's Supreme Allied Commander after his name popped up in the same investigation that toppled CIA Director David Petraeus.

Early Tuesday Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said he had ordered an investigation into Gen. Allen after the FBI uncovered emails between the general and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Florida woman whose complaints led the FBI to begin investigating Mr. Petraeus.

The Senate committee was supposed to hold a hearing Thursday on elevating Gen. Allen from his current position as top commander in Afghanistan to become NATO commander. But after Mr. Panetta's announcement the committee put Mr. Allen's nomination on ice.

"Because of the Department of Defense Inspector General's pending review, the confirmation hearing for General Allen to be Commander of U.S. European Command and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander has been postponed until a later date. That change of command is expected no earlier than March," committee Chairman Carl Levin and ranking Republican John McCain said in a statement.

Gen. Allen has reportedly denied that he had an inappropriate relationship with Mrs. Kelley.

Mr. Petraeus, a retired general, resigned on Friday after admitting he had an extramarital affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.

The affair came to light after Mrs. Kelley complained of anonymous emails warning her to stay away from Mr. Petraeus. The FBI traced the emails to Ms. Broadwell.
