FORT MEADE, Md. -- Bradley Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison on Wednesday for releasing 700,000 documents about the United States' worldwide diplomacy and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Manning was a 25-year-old Army private first class at the time of his arrest. He saw himself as an idealist acting to end the wars, and said in online chats with hacker Adrian Lamo that he was particularly concerned about the abuse of detainees in Iraq. No political or military higher-ups have ever been prosecuted for detainee abuse or torture in Iraq, Afghanistan or at Guantanamo Bay.

"One of the serious problems with Manning's case is that it sets a chilling precedent, that people who leak information ... can be prosecuted this aggressively as a deterrent to that conduct," said Andrea Prasow, senior counterterrorism counsel and advocate in Human Rights Watch's U.S. Program. "Shouldn't we be deterring people who commit torture?"

Here are some of the individuals who have been involved since 9/11 in detainee abuse and torture, and potential war crimes, and have never been prosecuted.

Changes

Welcome friends, I'll be on the road for a few days taking my daughter to college, so posts might be sporadic until next Monday.  If I don't answer emails or comments on the blog you know why...

This has been quite a week. I am still on my quest to release limits and emotional baggage from my being. I very much recommend Jodie Newell's technique for the emotional side of that equation.

Had a number of interesting insights in the past week, including a memory fragment of having been friends with Heather in another life somewhere (where I don't know). In that life she was a man, and a quite rugged and impressive one at that.  The memory I have she (or he in case of that life) was older, and a slight weathered face.  Maybe when I get some time I can make a rough sketch.  We were at a sea cliff leaning against a rail looking over an ocean but I don't think it was Earth.  I don't know what we were doing, but it was clear we were friends.  The face was different, masculine, but somehow much the same. Especially the grin. The memory hit me out of the blue while I went to wash my hands.  This is the first "past life" memory I have ever had, so perhaps this quest of  mine is doing some good personally.  I did recognize Heather on the phone in December (from where I didn't know), and she recognized me (she kept telling me "REMEMBER!" - but it took a bit longer for that to begin - 6 months really).  This is the first memory I have had return of any prior meeting.

RV/Gold Bait and Switch? - Secular Value vs Absolute Value - Hidden History of Gold

Visual of average Joe, happily putting on clothes with their
golden shackles. Represents Gold's true purpose in oursociety,
maintaining slavery systems.
GOLD Gold gold! This post is going to cover, why Gold historically has so much significance, and how the new push for a Gold back currency is the same old game.

D, from Breaking the Silence Removing the Shackles is constantly reenforcing this idea. Her recent post details that the new financial system and Revaluation, was intended to be Slavery Systems 2.0, the culmination of efforts the NWO or Illuminati have been planning for years. This post will outline the rationale and concepts to why this is the case, and why an Absolute Value System is needed now more then ever. Lets take it back to PRIME!

Historically Gold has served as a mechanism to control society. The bankers and financial powers of the planet have used Revaluations every 70 years or so, to transfer wealth from one group to another; usually from the free people of the planet, to the elite. There are 3 bodies of work we can use as reference material for this discussion which I will list at the end of this post.

What is Value and Why is Gold Valuable?

Visualization of Public forum wherein we decided gold was
valuable. Presumption of Fact by Convention.
The proponents of a Gold backed Currency claim that gold is THE ONLY REAL MONEY we have ever had, as if gold was some how imbued with divine powers in some far distant event in earths history. The fact is gold has no more value then anything else intrinsically, it only has value because WE, the sources of ALL VALUE, give it value by convention; Presumption of Fact by Convention. Presumption of Fact by Convention means, a social agreement to recognize a thing as true. Social agreements are used at all levels of society and civilizations on earth. But, a social convention can be a fiction, and historically speaking usually are.

"The world is flat!" This is a prime example of a Presumption Fact by Convention, the Vatican and Pope declared the world was flat and the Earth was the center of the universe, that does not mean it actually was true, but in the world of social agreements, it was. Gold has value by Presumption of Fact that it has historically ALWAYS been valuable; which can only be true by social agreement or convention.

Amazon DISAPPEARS from internet

I find it curious the two largest companies on the Internet had outages very near each other. Also curious that L3 (Level 3) is involved with the Amazon one as its a huge government telecom contractor, is someone testing how hard it would be to bring down the Internet for a period of time? Just sayin'....  -Bill / AK

Amazon DISAPPEARS from internet
Last week Google, this week Amazon, next week El Reg?

Updated Amazon.com has dropped offline*, amid widespread reports of trouble in the underlying Amazon Web Services infrastructure cloud.

The problems began at about 11.50am Pacific Time on Monday in California, and Twitter quickly flooded with reports of people having trouble accessing both Amazon.com and the Amazon Web Services cloud, as well.

At the time of writing, the Amazon Web Services status page displayed no information about the error, and Amazon.com was unreachable.

A quick poll of Twitter saw multiple AWS developers reporting problems ranging from having trouble accessing the sign-in console, to problems getting onto the control panel. Developers did say that existing EC2 server resources continued to run, however.

A traceroute run by The Register saw us being taken around Amazon's US data center locations via known-Amazon transit provider L3, with requests timing out after the 17th hop routed us into Washington.

This outage follows a worldwide Google-fail last week that saw the Chocolate Factory temporarily disappear from the internet, dropping worldwide net traffic by as much as 40 per cent, according to some analyses. ®

UK authorities reportedly raided the Guardian’s office in London to destroy hard drives in an effort to stop future publications of leaks from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. The action is unlikely to prevent new materials coming out.

Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger revealed in a Monday article posted on the British newspaper's website that intelligence officials from the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) told him that he would either have to hand over all the classified documents or have the newspaper’s hard drives destroyed.

After more talks, two "security experts" from GCHQ - the British version of the National Security Agency - visited the Guardian’s London offices.

Rusbridger wrote that the government officials then watched as computers, which contained classified information passed on by Snowden, were physically destroyed in one of the newspaper building’s basements.

"We can call off the black helicopters," Rusbridger said one of the officials joked.

Another source familiar with the event confirmed to Reuters that Guardian employees destroyed the computers as UK officials observed.

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has been charged with the murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 2007. The ex-military leader has denied all the charges against him.

"He was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy for murder and facilitation for murder," Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar told AFP at the anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi hearing the case.

Then-opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was killed in December 2007 during a political rally in the city of Rawalpindi by a suicide bomber. The judge ruled that Musharraf was complicit in her murder because he had not provided adequate security during the rally.

British police are investigating Diana's death again

British police are investigating Diana's death again

What more is there to investigate about the death of Princess Diana? British police aren't saying, but they're re-examining the 1997 car crash.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2013/08/17/british-police-are-investigating-dianas-death-again/2667705/

British police announced Saturday they are again investigating Princess Diana's death.

British media and the Associated Press reported that Scotland Yard is examining the "relevance and credibility" of newly received information relating to the deaths of Diana and her companion, Dodi Fayed, who also was killed, along with their driver, in a car crash in a Paris traffic tunnel on Aug. 31, 1997.

In a statement Scotland Yard said that the assessment will be carried out by officers from its specialist crime and operations unit.

Palace press officials representing Diana's sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, declined to comment.

The Telegraph reported that the new information alleges that Diana was "murdered" by a member of the British military, and that the allegation came to the Yard from the Royal Military Police, who in turn got it from the in-laws of a former soldier.
