The Phone Company that Said No to NSA

The Phone Company that Said No to NSA

US West CEO Released from Prisonhttp://www.veteranstoday.com/2013/10/07/the-phone-company-that-said-no-to-nsa/

By Dr Stuart Jeanne Bramhall

Former US West CEO Joseph Nacchio was released from prison last week after completing a four year insider trading sentence. He still claims the NSA framed him on the insider trading charges – after he refused to participate in their illegal phone surveillance program in 2001. US West was the only major telecommunication program that refused to spy on its customers. According to the Wall Street Journal, Nacchio feels vindicated by Edward Snowden’s recent revelations about NSA spying on Americans’ phone and email communications.

Nacchio was convicted of selling US West stock based on inside information about the company’s deteriorating financial health. He denies this, claiming he believed US West’s lucrative contracts with the federal government would continue. Instead his refusal to cooperate with the NSA resulted in the wholesale cancellation of  government contracts.

Nacchio had evidence supporting this claim. However the judge ruled it was classified and prevented his defense team from presenting it. The redacted NSA files were only made public after the former CEO was convicted and sentenced. However Harper’s and others have always supported Macchio’s contention that he was prosecuted in retaliation for saying “no” to the NSA.

Whether or not Nacchio is guilty of insider trading (all the legal arguments are summarized at Race to the Bottom), the most illuminating information in the redacted files is that the NSA was pressuring US West to spy on customers in February 2001. This was a good seven months before the 9-11 attacks, the supposed justification for curtailing Americans’ civil liberties.

NSA Director Alexander Admits He Lied about Phone Surveillance Stopping 54 Terror Plots

The head of the National Security Agency (NSA) admitted before a congressional committee this week that he lied back in June when he claimed the agency’s phone surveillance program had thwarted 54 terrorist “plots or events.”

NSA Director Keith Alexander gave out the erroneous number while the Obama administration was defending its domestic spying operations exposed by whistleblower Edward Snowden. He said surveillance data collected that led to 53 of those 54 plots had provided the initial tips to “unravel the threat stream.”

But Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on Wednesday during a hearing on the continued oversight of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that the administration was pushing incomplete or inaccurate statements about the bulk collection of phone records from communications providers.

“For example, we’ve heard over and over again that 54 terrorist plots have been thwarted by the use of (this program),” Leahy said. “That’s plainly wrong,” adding: “These weren’t all plots and they weren’t all thwarted.”

Alexander admitted that only 13 of the 54 cases were connected to the United States. He also told the committee that only one or two suspected plots were identified as a result of bulk phone record collection.

Does this map from 1418 prove historian's controversial claim that the New World was discovered by the CHINESE 70 years before Columbus?

Does this map from 1418 prove historian's controversial claim that the New World was discovered by the CHINESE 70 years before Columbus?

  • Gavin Menzies, a British historian, claims Chiense Admiral Zheng He set up colonies and sailed round South America before Columbus
  • Menzies' new book, 'Who Discovered America?' also claims the Chinese have been sailing to the New World since 40,000 BC across the Pacific Ocean
  • His theories are not widely accepted by academia and he has been labeled a 'pseudo-historian'

A copy of a 600-year-old map found in a second-hand book shop is the key to proving that the Chinese, not Christopher Columbus, were the first to discover the New World, a controversial British historian claims.

The document is purportedly an 18th century copy of a 1418 map charted by Chinese Admiral Zheng He, which appears to show the New World in some detail.

PS: Haole, while often considered a racial invective these days, it originated as a description of white europeans because they tended not to breath deeply.  Shallow breathing is common in the western world, its why Yoga teachers teach people how to breathe, to increase Qi or Prana life force. Its a habit we pick up from our parents.

For many of you the last 24/48 hours in the human linear time context may have seen much emotion arise and much confusion, anxiety and chaos unfold around you or even within you.  It can be extremely confusing to the human psyche to FEEL the intense energies begin their work but “see” no immediate change in what you perceive as your waking life experience.  This may have many of you seriously questioning what is happening for if you look for a reference point in the life that you have lived up until this moment (remember ALL changes at all times, nothing is static) you will find nothing, for it dissolves as you attempt to look at it.

If you then attempt to find a reference point in that which you can FEEL but cannot see the human logical mind will attempt to filter it out and so you are left in a sort of “no man’s land”.  For those of you who are surrounded by those who are what is termed “asleep” the past 24/48 hours may have been extreme, for those who are unaware at a human conscious waking mind level of all that is now unfolding the triggering will be immense. The need to constantly re-anchor all that they have been taught under the old 3d earth “rules” will be high and they will aggressively try to do this at times. By this I dont mean they will get physical, more that their tolerance for your “indiosynchrasies” will be nill. They may tell you bluntly just how mad they think you are all the while filtering out just how insane the reality of 3d earth is in TRUTH. A reality that is now breaking down but is being propped up by the extreme emotions of those who do not want it but cannot let it go for they are unable to see that their fears are driving the reality.

This is a time of walking between worlds, of being conscious of all that is dissolving and being able to TRUST the FEELings that are arising within you. The old dissolving is painful, to see those who are unable to detach continue to try to feed a system that is dying can be a challenge but it cannot be met with the same frequencies that are dissolving. All that happens is that a holding pattern is created, this holding pattern may at times push you to the edge of your sanity and that is how the old 3d earth reality was CREATED.  Many of you may resonate with moving into the heart space and FEELing that all is well despite what is happening around you. To try to move into the chaos that is the logical mind for many of you may feel like torture and there is a reason for this.

The NSA's Huge New Data Center Keeps Having Meltdowns And No One Knows Why

The National Security Agency's new $2 billion Utah data center keeps suffering from costly meltdowns and government officials are not sure of the cause,  Siobhan Gorman of The Wall Street Journal reports.

Since August 2012, there have been 10 electrical surges that have prevented the NSA from using computers. One official described them as "a flash of lightning inside a 2-foot box."

Each meltdown caused as much as $100,000 in damage. The center requires about 65 megawatts of electricity to run, at a cost of more than $1 million a month, and the surges are probably connected to the electrical system's inability to simultaneously run computers and keep them cool.

The Army Corps of Engineers (ACE), which is overseeing the data center's construction, disagrees with contractors on a number of issues, noting that the causes of the meltdowns "are not yet sufficiently understood" despite contractors' assertions the "root cause" had been uncovered.

In a report, an ACE team notes that the government has incomplete information about the design of the electrical system. It also found that regular quality controls in design and construction were bypassed in an effort to "fast track" the Utah project.

The million square-foot data mining complex is meant to serve as "the NSA cloud," James Bamford, author of the book "The Shadow Factory: The NSA from 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America," wrote in Wired last year. "The center will be fed data from the agency's eavesdropping satellites, overseas listening posts, and secret monitoring rooms in telecom facilities throughout the U.S."

One Fox News report said that the center has the potential to store as much as 5 zettabytes (1 zettabyte = 1 billion terabytes = 1 trillion gigabytes). With just 1 zettabyte (1024 exabytes) of space, the NSA can store a year's worth of the global Internet traffic (which is estimated reached 966 exabytes per year in 2015).

Gorman notes that the agency currently "collects the phone records of nearly all Americans and has built a system with telecommunications companies that provides coverage of roughly 75% of Internet communications in the U.S."
